The Bridge of Flowers originally carried the Trolley Trains of the small Villages of Shelburne Falls and Colrain. The Shelburne Falls Womens Club beautified the abandoned Trolley Track Bridge in 1928. They planted over 500 varieties of flowers and plants. The depth of the soil varies from about 2.5 to 9+/- feet. This is a creative re-use of city infrastructure. This is an example of Community Preservation in its finest sense.
